Talk about Taylor swift tickets controversy, mention her Era’s tour etc.
FACTS:
Live Nation and Ticketmaster as a conglomerate and a monopoly
- Taylor Swift’s 2023 Tour [the era’s tour] USA Leg was announced
- Ticketmaster owns Live nation
- TicketMaster has a thing called Dynamic Pricing, which basically means the higher the demand, the higher the price of the tickets rise
- TicketMaster makes more money by having Scalpers and Bots buying tons of tickets and reselling them for ridiculous prices- for example, they were selling Taylor tickets for over $60,000. Original tickets were priced at $49 – $400, the price rises the closer you are to the stage.
- Tickets to see Taylor Swift live in concert
- Ticketmaster handpicked out ‘Verified Fans’ allowing fans to get a presale code: they can buy tickets before the general sale. Ticketmaster gave out far more verified fan presale codes than the website could handle, resulting in a massive glitch with the system on the day. People were in the queue for over 4 hours, either with an extremely overpriced ticket as they didn’t want to miss out on seeing Taylor live, or disappointed with no ticket.
- Tickets to see Taylor swift sold so swiftly the general public never even had a chance to buy.
