Authoritarianism– People are telling you what to do

Hedonism– Only pleasure or pain motivates us. You only choose the option that will give us pleasure. If you have to have pleasure, you have to have pain. Epicurus: there is pleasure in pain.

The Frankfurt School:

Said that money doesn’t buy you happiness, you are vulnerable and are being ripped off when buying things you think will make you happy. You think you’re free but you are not really.

We need to be wary of popular culture. They will feed you information that might not be true.

Why are we hearing about some things when there’s more important things we need to know/hear about.
