cross-media promotion (film) nea

C. Brief for Web Pages

Ok this is the part we try to put together all of the production work.

Create a film website promoting a new low budget independent film (or music video). You are primarily targeting an audience of fans of ‘indie’ culture.

You will create at least three pages of the website that
should include the following:

  1. a home page that gives information to the audience about the film and communicates a clear brand identity
  2. the second page should contain a synopsis of the film and could include information on the cast and/or crew
  3. the final page should offer further information that would be of interest to your target audience.

The website should attempt to encourage interaction and sharing to help in the promotion of the film.

You should include both your video sequences and your posters on the website.

As ever I suggest that you analyse 5 real media products that you want to use as style models and inspirations, so . . .

Notes

LANGUAGE OF WEB BASED MEDIA? What key terms can we identify in terms of web based products.

What software to use? This is a tricky one! So the best answer is that “you can use any software you like!” There are free web packages that you can use (see list below), or if you are really stuck and getting stressed, then use a graphic design package to just show your layout and design and then upload as an image onto the blog – so for example, Photoshop or even Powerpoint (although to be clear these are not ideal or appropriate, but will be ok for this particular task / assessment).
