photoshoot plan

here’s mind map of Anthropocene photography and all the photos are from the Edward Burtynsky I will be basing my photos on Edwards photos, so I will be taking pictures of industrial areas or areas where there is a lot of waste. I am plaining on going to the harbour, the incinerator or any construction site. some of the photos I will try and personalise and not copy Edward Burtynskys photos.

this is one of the locations that I will be taking some photos, its a industrial area with pipes, waste management, industrial vehicles, fishing boats and equipment, etc.

this is where I will be taking photo for the mock and this only one part of the area. as I said its mostly an industrial area so it will be great for one of my photoshoots. what I want to take a picture of is when the incinurator is on and smoke is coming out

Gustave Grey

Though he was trained as a painter, Gustave Le Gray made his mark in the emerging medium of photography. An experimenter and technical innovator, Le Gray pioneered the use of the paper negative in France and developed a waxed-paper negative that produced sharper-focus prints.

Gustave Grey was born in August 30 1820 and died on July 30 1884 Gustave Grey was know as on of the most important French photographers of the eighteenth century he was noted as a teacher for some other great photographers. he
pioneered the use of the paper negative in France and developed a waxed-paper negative. this is why he is known in photography history for his innovation in the early days of photography.

Mandy Barker

Mandy Barker is an award winning British photographic artist whose work involving marine plastic debris has received global recognition. Her work has been exhibited, published and collected worldwide.

with this photo she was doing it for protest of the 2014 world cup, how she did it she got a sheet of black velvet and put one of the washed up balls in the middle of it and took a photo then in photo shop layered them all on top each other

all of Mandy bakers photos are created with stuff she finds on the beach and then she edits it to make nice patterns and i think its to show look how much plastic and waste is in our oceans.

anthropocene

The Anthropocene is a proposed geological epoch dating from the commencement of significant human impact on Earth’s geology and ecosystems, including, but not limited to, anthropogenic climate change. Jersey exports 12,000 tons of ash a year to the Uk for it to be made in to construction material.

Edward Burtynsky is a famous photographer known for his pictures of the impact of human industry. the picture above this is one of his photos its showing people scraping a cargo ship you can smoke polluting the environment and fire in the background and that’s also polluting the planet.

the origins of the word Anthropocene is derived from the Greek words anthropo for “man,” and cene for “new,” coined and made popular by biologist Eugene Stormer and chemist Paul Crutzen in 2000

here’s mind map of Anthropocene photography and all the photos are from the Edward Burtynsky

Hilla and Bernd Becher

Hilla and Bernd Becher are a German couple that changed the course of twentieth century photography working as a couple they took photos of the disappearing industrial building and areas around western Europe and northern America
in 1976 Bernd Becher started teaching photography at Kunstakademie Düsseldorf.

when the Becher’s where talking there photos they didn’t want anything that wasn’t the the subject of the photo so sometimes they had to wait for clouds to go by to take a photo or wait for winter. and that’s why every photo you see of there’s kind of has the same feel as the last one and that’s why there work is seen as art.

here’s some photos that Hilla and Bernd Becher. as you can see there style kind of looks like passport photos and most of them are in a collection of the same type of equipment such as waters towers, warehouses, gas containers, etc.
Hilla Becher died on October 10 2015 and Bernd Becher died in June 22 2007

new topographic

1975 was the turning point in the history of photography  the 1975 exhibition New Topographic signalled a radical shift away from traditional depictions of landscape. and turned towards the urbanisation of the new world photos of gas station or caravan parks normal urban things and they where mundane but oddly they looked fascinating because the photos looked like art work. The main point of the new topographic encourage taking photos of mans alterations on the world and not taking photos of the wilderness.

ISO and White Balance

Digication ePortfolio :: Tetiana Nagorna :: ISO/White Balance settings

High ISO settings are useful for capturing fast action in poorly or unevenly-lit situations. (Taken with ISO 800 sensitivity, 1/800 second at f/6.3.) The white balance setting is used to make the colours in a digital photograph look natural under a variety of lighting conditions. shown in the top

What is WHITE BALANCE in photography – How to set WB

taking photos with high IOS can make your photos look grainy and not look as good as it could be. Also taking photos with low IOS can make your photos look can make your photos look darker.
