cut n paste experiments

I took a still life of a bottle and put the Hamptonne persons head to appear to come out the top as if the bottle was her body.

this still life of a group of objects. I cut it into strips and inverted every other strip to create this effect.

this photo of a person in Gorey I changed their face to a zoomed in dandelion and turned Goreys beautiful bay into a bush

this one I cut out the figure and replaced it with a stained glass window of jesus christ

this is the cut out person from the previous image and i have stood her next to a grass protruding through the stone at the Hamptonne this messes with the perception of the viewer because they are at different scales.

object based still life

this is a still life of a jersey milk bottle that has been edited to appear blue.

this is the same still life of a jersey milk bottle but it has been eddit3ed to appear purple.

the shadows have been increased on this image to make it appear more dramatic and the highlights have been increased to show the light reflection of of the milk bottle and bell.

this still life has been edited to bring out the shine in the metallic surface of the syringe and the darker tones of the brass bell. the grainy photograph underneath gives the whole image a vintage tone.

environmetal portraits

I like this photo because of soft natural light in the back, highlighting the dust made by the ped. all of this leads to the bright colours in the centre of the image.

For my environment portraits I chose to shoot a moped doing donut.

on this image I increased the highlights and lowered the shadows to bring out the colours in the green leaves and the person in the centre of the image.
this photo i increased this photo the contrast and decreased the highlights to bring out the deep blues and ther purple sun rays. i liked the lit dust in the bottom of the image that bring your eye up the main image.
this was the before for the image before
This image of the coast line of Gorey with a hiker to the side of the image.
Gorey has a lot of heritage, to compliment this I put the image in black and white.

hamptonne exteriors

this image is of the main Hamptonne building. you can see the contrast the light and the dark in this photo.
this is image is of the main court yard.
this is thatched roof.
this is a archway leading from the orchid into the courtyard.

environmental portaits theory

A environmental portrait is taken of the person in there most natural settings this typical gives more depth to the images. There whole life can be represented in a photo.

Annie Leibovitz was born in 1949, she is most known for her engaging environmental portraits.

This portrait of a sailor on his boat sailing. This image is a perfect example of an environmental portrait, an image of a person in their own habitat.

All these photographs, I think are very good environmental portraits. they all tell a story of the subject and their environmental and incite on personality.

image analysis

Image result for arnold newman alfred krupp

this image was taken by Arnold Newman who was famed for taking environmental portraits. this type of portrait is used to show his huge industrial empire with a sinister way. the shadows and the way the light highlights all the wrinkles in his face making him look more corrupt and dis honourable.

Alfred Krupp invented the spoon roller for spoons and forks.

the Krupp company helped the Nazi regime, used slave labour by the Nazis to carry out the holocaust. as Krupp gained the economic benefits.

the jersey corn riots

The corn riots are modern celebration of Jerseys democracy which began in 1769, when the actual riots took place over grain shortages which turned into the royal court being stripped of its power.

Now we celebrate the starting of our democracy with a holiday on September 26.

Rioters paraded from trinity church to the royal square in 1769. now others follow the route taken, on September 26.

There were 500 rioters at the royal square because the price of wheat led to a shortage across the island.

2 years later, all of this led to the code of 1771 was introduced making the states the only body in jersey to make laws.

cyanotypes

cyanotypes were invented by John Hershel originally intended to be a way or reproducing drawings known as blueprints.

cyanotypes are made from Potassium ferricyanide and Ferric ammonium citrate are mixed with water separately.

Cyanotype’s uses different iron compounds, which when shown UV light then washed in water then there is a blue images.

Anna Atkins used cyanotypes to publish the first book with illustrated photographs.

This is one of Anna Atkins cyanotypes.
