PHOTOSHOP EXPERIMNETATION

Here is the original photo taken from my AS summer task and is of a bunker as part of Jersey’s famous Moltke Battery situated on the steep cliffs of Les Landes looking westwards to the Atlantic’s horizon. I took this photo on my phone, focusing on the bunker and making use of its High Dynamic Range (HDR).

Firstly, I turned the Image to Black and White on Photoshop

Then I added more blacks and lowered whites while keeping mid tones similar to before to try and not over edit or over saturate the photo and keep the original essence of the bunker without ruining it.

Not much was needed to edit the photo as the exposure was more than satisfactory from the original photo, and increased contrast wasn’t too necessary as the photo already had dark shadows, strong contours and a defined outline helping separate it from the background.

This is only a start, there will be plenty more experimentation and updates on my photoshop work and how I progress.
