The Photographic Archive of the Société Jersiaise contains over 100,000 images dating from the mid-1840s to the present day. The Photographic Archive Catalogue containing over 36,000 images can be searched online. Researchers may also view original prints and negatives, by appointment.

What are they?

Plan

  • take photos conveying gender roles or gender differences
  • have a male standing over a female just to suggest stereotypical/common ideology
  • maybe have a woman cleaning and a man in the background?
  • low lighting to suggest a dark and ominous setting
  • mans head out of shot
  • hard lighting from ring light
  • woman in focus
  • head height
