Positive and negative stereotypes: Positive stereotypes are stereotypes which present a good message about what the stereotype is. For example a positive stereotype could be “Woman are kind and caring”. Negative stereotypes are stereotypes which present a bad message about what the stereotype is. For example a negative stereotype could be “teenagers are grumpy and lazy”.

Counter types: A counter type is like an assumption. It can be about a group of people, for example it could be “all French people eat baguettes”.

Misrepresentation: Misrepresentation is when someone or something is not represented how they want to be seen. For example Iceland may want to be represented as affordable and family friendly, however some people may see it as cheap and bad quality.

Selective Representation:

Statement of intent

  • My audience are going to receive entertainment when reading my magazine as its about a game.
  • They will all receive information as the magazine will contain tips and tricks to help them with the game
  • They are going to be able to socialize about the magazine with other people who have read it.
  • The magazine is used so that people can pass the time when they are bored
  • They can use the magazine to escape from the real world

For my magazine cover i have made a large title so that people will be able to remember it. It also makes it more visible as it has some smaller text on it. The main image is of a football field which i took and then edited to look lie a game styled football pitch. I made my own bar-code from small rectangles. I made custom football cards with different players.

Magazine Front cover

The ideal consumer for my magazine would be Football fans, and game fans. It is available for all genders and ages however it is predominantly aimed at 12-18 year old boys. Anyone from all around the globe can access it as long as it is available in their region.
