Screenplay Reflection

I worked in a pair with Noah.

I found this task quite difficult as it was my first time trying to write a screenplay, therefore I wasn’t very familiar with the formatting of the screenplay, so it took longer to write as we had to juggle using the prompt (1984) and the template within the 15 minute time limit. However, I think in the future having better knowledge of the formatting of the screenplay, maybe a visual of a published screenplay for inspiration of the format, will make it quicker and easier to write. Also prior knowledge/research of the book 1984 to help with the description.

Screenplay adaptation task reflection

I worked in a pair with Iona on creating a screenplay adapted from a short extract of the novel ‘1984’ by Orwell, 1948.

I personally found this task quite difficult due to the time limit we had to complete it (15 mins). It was also my first time creating a screenplay in the specific format which took a lot of concentration to do correctly while also trying to think of what is important (or not) to add into the screenplay. Now I have some practice with creating a screenplay in the correct format I believe next time it will be easier for me to take on. Also, creating a screenplay with an original idea that I can visualise will be a lot easier for me to turn into a screenplay, rather than adapting an existing piece which I don’t have as strong of vision of.

Screenplay Reflection Task

I think that Aaron and I worked well on this task, taking in the smaller details mentioned in the extract to add extra details into our screenplay. If we had more context to the rest of the novel we were adapting from, we would’ve had an easier time writing it, and would probably have a better final product, given the short timeframe we had to write this too.

We made use of the resources we were given, like the example screenplay with notes on the PowerPoint, and it definitely helped.

The task was difficult as we did not have enough context of the whole story or plot

Furthermore as we had not had experience with experience with certain aspects of the story.

But it was useful as we now have experience with the formatting we need

Reflection on screenplay task

This task was challenging as we did not have enough context of the whole story or plot, therefore we had to assume certain aspects of the story. therefore research into the story would help.

The formatting of a script was challenging to follow because we have not had a lot of practice at creating screenplays.

This task was useful as it made us more observant to details and making sure we include every detail regarding the character, setting or actions.

screenplay reflection task

reflection:

Me and George worked well together in order to complete this task within the given timeframe as well as working collaboratively while writing this.

It was also kind of tricky in order to fit all of the details we deemed to be important into such a small timeframe.

We could of worked better if we knew more context of the book and how the opening scene reflects the rest of the world seen throughout the book.

Screenplay adaption reflection

This was a difficult task as we were not given the entire story, so we did not have the big picture. As well as having a short period of time to use and understand the screenplay structures, which made us run out of time. In future, I would do research on the story, so I understand the scene, as well as making sure I understand the structure of screenplays, through looking at examples.
