Memorable scene- final scene ; the editing was impeccable and the cuts between Andrew and Fletcher stood out to me as they highlight him guiding Andrew therefore it provides a calmness to contrast the chaotic side of Andrew playing and Fletcher’s satisfaction of him.
Rating-
9.5/10
Memorable scene-
When Andrew is running to his first studio band session presuming he is late due to the fast paced editing which creates a sense of paranoia.
In addition the final scene for many reasons including the near perfect use of cinematography specifically the use of such different shots and camera angles.
Rating: 8/10
Memorable Scene- the final scene because the rest of the film built up to that moment.
Whiplash (Chazelle,2014) | CRITICAL SCORE: 8/10 | MEMORABLE SCENE: Final Scene The editing in the scene built tension (through the use of fast paced editing during climax point) highlighting the characters relationship and Andrews determination. |
In my opinion, this film is a 9/10, for strong editing that follows the pace of the music and movement. The most memorable scene was the 11-minute finale at the JVC competition, where Fletcher gives Andrew the wrong music in an attempt to destroy his career before it starts.
Critical score: 10/10
The most memorable scene for me is the finale scene, specifically when Andrew slows the tempo down all the way and then back up again, alluding to the previous comments made by Fletcher.
I would give this movie a 9/10, the most memorable scene for me is the juxtaposition of how Fletcher talks to Andrew before he goes into class and then as soon as he’s in it he proceeds to mock him and use what he learnt about him against him.
Rating – 10/10
Memorable scene – I think that the most memorable scene was the last one. The build up of tension in the music, cinematography and editing was immaculate.
I rate the film 10/10 because of its acting, theme and story.
My favourite scene is the final scene, especially the close-ups between Andrew and Fletcher.
