Explain how the production context of Citizen Kane influenced the look and feel of the end product.
The production of Citizen Kane created an eerie look due to the lighting in the film. The lighting shone down in only certain parts of the set which made certain scenes look eerie. The characters become silhouettes which gives a chilling feel to the audience which links in to the idea that Citizen Kane has an eerie sense to the finishing project.
The fact that some of the film was filmed from a low angle shot where there was a hole placed into the floor and so the camera can show more upright of the scene creates an odd look to the film as you can see the ceiling where in majority of films you cannot see the ceiling due to that’s where the lighting came from but the light coming through the window cancels out the lights above therefore you can see the ceiling as lights are being shone through the window creating a bright look into the scene which helps bring other scenes into this scene to help produce the finished product.
