What is a cinematographer?

A trained craft person in charge of lighting lens choice of a shot. They deal with the camera-work of a film and know how to use and set it up

Differently a director is the person in charge of everything and decides with the cinematography what the shots and camera techniques are going to be used.

Mise-en-scène

Mise-en-scène is a phrase used to describe the creative aspect of a film production. which basically means “what is in the screen”.

Cindy Sherman was born in January 1954 and is an American photographer who is known for her self-portraits, where she represents herself in many different forms and as various imagined characters.

Cindy Sherman makes all her photographs distinctive despite the fact that they are for the most part self-representations. She does this by utilizing mise en scene; this is the place she changes the foundation, her ensemble, her demeanor or her roll out up to improvement the state of mind. Likewise, all her photographs are arranged.

Her most realized work is a gathering of self-pictures where she changed something before snapping another picture. During this she went from a curator to a whore.

The following is our arrangement and endeavors at utilizing mise en scene in photographs.

Top 10 Highest grossing films

Most of the top 10 highest grossing films in cinema are superhero films. This is because there is a huge market for superhero films. Franchises like marvel and DC have big huge fan bases which are loyal to the franchise and would go watch in the cinema most films the company makes. Most of the films produced that are in the top 10 highest grossing films are made form already existing concepts/ characters that most fans are already fond of. Marvel and DC had their superhero comics before they made the films so once the films were being made, they already had a relatively large audience.

A spectrum of the Arts

A spectrum of the Arts

The performance Arts – My example of a performance arts is a live piece of theatre. In live piece of theatre, the performance is happening in real time which is what makes it a Performance art.

Representational Arts – My example for Representational arts is a comic book. For example, the famous Beano comics. Also, another form of representational art is a novel or a fictional story book for example the beats quest book collection which has various illustrations of characters and setting in the book.

The Recording Arts – My example for a recording art would be any sort of film or video form which provides a more direct path between subject and observer. Also, music is a recording art. An example of these would be a film “Forrest Gump”.

Blurred the boundaries – a film that blurs the boundaries would be one that have more than just one of the art forms above within it. For example, a film that would have not just the recording arts aspect but also the performance art. An example of this would be a play that turned into a film or a film that turned into a play afterwards like Charlie and the Chocolate factory, Greese, An Inspector Calls, Romeo and Juliet etc. There are also forms of recording arts that have blended with representation arts such as, Maze Runner, The Hunger games, Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter. The list goes on. All the arts forms can mix. Which means certain art forms can blur the boundaries.

Films in specific can Blur the boundaries in terms of style/genre in comparison to other films. They don’t just come under one category they come under multiple. Also, films that break the conventional creations of a film is also blurring the boundaries. These are usually the artistic films that take creative risks. Films that are also innovators of things that have influence film such as “Planet of the apes” and its selling of merchandise are also films that blur the boundaries.

I wasn’t 100% on what I was writing so I wrote everything I thought was good:)

Verisimilitude

Verisimilitude:

The appearance of being true or real.

For example, Lord of the rings is a fantasy genre film which needs good verisimilitude for it to somehow connect to the audience. This can reinforce believability in the movie which helps a viewer escape and enter the fantasy world of the movie.
