Comparative Meeting #1

Screenplay – Ideas already started, finishing screenplay in next couple weeks

Cinematography – Locations are almost sorted as most of film is in isolated location

Director – Main character Phoebe is 17 as well as 2 siblings of the family so wouldn’t be too hard to cast. Maybe a single parent as that would be easier to cast – maybe a parent?

Next Meeting: Finish screenplay, have definitive locations and cast characters

EXAMPLES OF SCREENPLAYS AND SHOOTING SCRIPTS (SCREENWRITER/CINEMATOGRAPHER/DIRECTOR)

Just a reminder that you need to update your Collaborative Production Log on your blog by putting up your Pitch Deck slides from yesterday’s presentation. Before you do, you may want to change your Logline (some weren’t written as loglines) and think of some films that have inspired your idea to help your audience visualise how your end product will look if this is not in there already.

Screenwriters should remember that your screenplay needs to be a maximum of 7 pages long (courier 12 point font) – 1 page per minute. This article is really useful :

Some really nice examples of recent screenplays (TV and Film) which made it to the screen can be found here :

That library also has examples of shooting scripts and audition samples for casting which would be useful to both the Cinematographer and the Director.

This site also has a number of “cheat sheets” on it which will help you to organise your production:

https://www.filmsourcing.com/film-industry-cheat-sheet

The cheat sheet (a series of slides) on screenplay layout are particularly useful:

Remember- don’t hesitate to e mail me if you are getting stuck on the Comparative Study!
