There are no more independent cinema spaces that exist in Jersey, only Cineworld, which is a commercial cinema, exists. Although places like Howard Davis Park show seasonal film screenings.

As the number of screens have increased, the number of independent cinemas have decreased because there is a high demand to see more popular films at once, instead of shorter art films.

The New Era cinema opened in 1954 and closed in 1980 which had 770 seats. The Forum Cinema was opened in 1935 and closed in 1981. The Odeon was the last of the 4 post war cinemas which opened in 1952 and closed in 2004.

There were 4 cinema screens during this time in Jersey: The large art deco Forum Cinema (single screen) , the new era cinema (single screen), The odeon cinema (single screen) , West cinema (single screen)

There are around 13 cinema screens now: Cineworld (10), The art center (single), The grand hotel (single), Outdoor cinema (single).
