Low: This is an example from Inception. This shows the viewer the height they would have to fall and makes it seem bigger as the camera is looking up at them as if they were far away.
Canted: This is an example from Iron Man. It makes the person betraying Iron Man look bigger as he has all the power in this situation. It also makes Iron Man look smaller and therefore weaker to illustrate how he is dying.
Bird’s eye view: This is an example from Paddington 2. It creates a sense of scale and drama even though what is happening it not that dramatic. It also places the viewer in the perspective of the guard who was recalling past events who was standing above when it happened.
The area in front of the camera that appears sharp in the frame is called Depth of field. Depth of Field is defined as the range of acceptable focus on a shot.
Shallow Depthof Field is which part of the frame is soft or out of focus and is used primarily to isolate the subject from its environment.
These are used to draw the viewers attention to a certain object with detail or a person with emotion.
Deep Depthof Field is which most of the frame is clear or in focus and is used to show landscapes or multiple reactions.
These shots normally are more focused on plot or world building rather than character development .
7/10 interesting but difficult to understand at points and the meaning behind certain elements. Kubrick deliberately leaves many sections vague which often felt me wanting more of an explanation
The scene in the Room 237 and the point where Wendy discovers that all jack has written for his book is a single phrase were significant points in the movie for me
