That was a sequence of shot – reverse shots, it helps show dialogue between multiple – in this case two – people.
Firstly an establishing shot was used to show the scene and introduce the characters, then i went straight onto the dialogue shots.
Additionally i could have used a master shot which is a a film recording of a entire scene – usually a long take – which can also double as an establishing shot.
Alan Silvestri deserves more recognition as one of the best film composers of all time by the films he has been apart of and what they would of been without his music. His work includes Back to the Future Trilogy, the first two Predator films, three marvel films, Forest Gump and many more iconic movies. All those would be missing something without his music. Back to the Future music is definitely one of best soundtracks off all time by how fun and futuristic it feels in that movie.
Ennio Morricone themes for Sergio Leone are I what I beleive make him iconic. Him and Bill Conti (composer for Rocky) are the only film composers what have made genre defining themes. His work on the Dollar trilogy has made his soundtrack what anyone thinks of when watching a Western. His soundtracks feel like they belong in every film he composes in, and the Western genre would feel as if it was missing something without his iconic pieces.
John Williams, improves the movie by his music giving even more character to characters in the film such as Star Wars where he gives each of the main characters, planets, interactions and factions there own theme. Examples of this is the Darth Vader theme for character, to the dual of heroes for interactions, Binary sunset for Tantoine and the Imperial march for the Empire. All what he does in his films adds another layer what makes you understand the movie even better. The fact he is able to make the themes belong in a sci-fi film is quite incredible as well, as he doesn’t try and make it feel like Blade Runner or Back to the Future where the sound feels out of this time.
In these photos, I set my camera to manual focus and adjusted this to create a shallow focus. As a result, the foreground is in clear focus on the first image: blurring the background which keeps our attention grounded to the foreground. This concept is reversed for the second photo, where the background is in clear focus compared with the blurry foreground
Next, I
experimented with the white balance to create several different hues and
colouring of the same image. This led to the reproduction of the image, but
with a slightly altered hue such as yellow or blue. This can be useful to
create a mood or atmosphere, but also to signify indoors or outdoors
I lowered the
ISO, which creates low-key lighting and generally darkened the photo
I used the
manual focus to create the following photos. With the first image, I adjusted
the focus so that the image was blurry and the letters were illegible. Next, I
ensured that there was a clear enough focus to easily read the letters
Here i have an example of the different stages of “3 stage lighting”
First, before we have any specific points of light added, we have a very flat and uninteresting picture. This is because there are very few shadows being cast that make it interesting.
The next stage is to add a Key Light. A key light comes from the front on on side and is the brightest light, that makes it the key light.
After the Key light we need to add what is known as a fill light to soften the image and balance the contrast between light and dark, since the key light is coming from a specific side, it is casting strong shadows over the face and so the fill light counters this by coming from the other side.
Finally the last Point of lighting is called the back light,it is put behind the subject and it is used to provide a sense of depth and helps separate the subject from the background.
